I still have the original memory card in my Curve 8330 which is only 1 gig and I would now like to put in the 4 gig that I bought but I don't know exactly what is saved to the 1 gig card soo...
What should I do to ensure all my data is transfered from my old 1 gig to my new 4 gig? Back it up? Or just go into the explore view on my computer and drag everything out then put it back in when I put the new card in?
Do the latter. Connect your BB to your PC, browse to the root of the existing card, select all, copy everything to a temporary folder on your PC, swap the cards and copy everything back.
That's exactly what I did, thank you guys. Sooo if I get a 32 or a 16 GB sdhc, will it make my blackberry faster? I'm seeing a little slow down problems, like just scrolling from icon to icon in the apps menu or going back to the homescreen is even slow... is there any way to allocate virtual memory on a high capacity card?
Memory cards are used for storage of information, like pictures, videos, music, etc... INTERNAL memory (generally referred to as "file free") is used to run applications.
Also, applications cannot be transferred to media cards.
The file free you stated doesn't look bad at all.
How long have you had this blackberry?
