Depends what OS you are running.

I would play it safe with 4gb card though.

8gb is only compatible with some OS's , not sure which I will let somebody else answer that.

To find your OS go - options - about and you should see it there
I have a 4gb working no worries

Options/About. 3rd line. You should see something like: v4.2.2.176 (Build 3.0.0.79). Per Pete's chart, v4.2.2.x devices support up to 4GB cards. Compare your info to his chart and you'll see what you can use.
