I just got this thing a few days ago, I keep missing calls because I do not hear it, and I have it set on loud, I am certain. I have ringtones that I have downloaded both from here, and from Funtonia.com, and internal ringtones, is there any way to like hack and make the thing ring louder?

No way really other than getting louder tones.

You can use Audacity or mp3gain to make the ringtone louder, then reload them on your Curve.

Thanks for the advice, I tried Audacity and got lost with that, but the MP3Gain has worked out ok, it's just a lot of hassle.

On audacity, you adjust volume by adjusting the slider control for gain. You can also use audacity to shorten your mp3 files to 30 secs. for use as ringtones.

Try this if you haven't already....took me awhile to find this option.

1) Select your sound option (mine's in the upper right corner)
2) Scroll down to Advanced and select it
3) Select Loud and then press the BB Menu Key to Edit
4) Select Phone
5) Edit Volume Setting to High (for in-holster & out of holster)
6) Save the settings

There's a whole mess of individual settings under Advanced so play around with them until you get the settings you want.

When I got my phone, the Loud was on a Medium volume. Hope this helps.

Using audacity, I made an mp3 ringtone that was previously too soft on the Loud Profile loud enough so that I now use the Normal profile.

Mine was set to medium as well.
I'm going to try to bump it up more using audacity as well.
