I'm posting only because I'm not sure how to write this as a question that the search function will get, I'm also sick and not as patient as normal. I think a friend told me I can change the LED on my 8330. My OS is 4.5.0.77 and I'm on Verizon

You can change the color of the LED for different things such as emails, sms, and missed calls. It's a program called BBAlerts. Very cool program. I recommend it.
