I don't know... From what i've read around here, looks like you have to sacrifice a few functions of the 8330 when you download 5.0. It's really hit or miss I guess..

.175 is a great OS, I had it on my 8330 and loved how fast and responsive it was. I would highly recommend it, unless you want to try out the hybrids?

Another Verizon user here. Used Shrink A OS like Tripster suggested, being careful to swap in the .131 radio files. to .175
Since I have done that I have gained about 10 MB of memory over .160, have a faster running phone and NO CHIRPS!!!!
(So far!) Yea!!!!! for Shrink A OS, advice, .175 and my bb!!!!
Thank you to xliderider also! You do so much to help us with our OS troubles!
    Thanks!!!!

I'm sure you mean your Curve's OS. If you're content with the performance of your 8330, then leave it. I'd be willing to bet though, you'll find if you're happy now, you'll be happier with a much newer OS. Should give you a lot more file free, faster performance all around, and a stabler memory.

I've never heard of these OS versions. Are you looking at the Package version or the Application versions?

That is Sprint's deal, MMS picture messages display fine on Verizon 8330 devices whether they have an ESN or MEID number.
On Verizon, all devices are 8330 even if they have an MEID number.

It doesn't have anything to do with the OS or device, it is the way Sprint has chosen to set-up their servers.

And I replied that it doesn't have anything to do with the OS, but how Sprint chooses to handle 8330 devices. They send the Picturemail link because the device MAY be running an old OS version that isn't MMS capable.

Apparently, some 8330 owners have something setup differently in their account settings on Sprint's end because they are able to receive MMS pictures directly on their device.
