- These are the Apps I have used or currently use and why:
Facebook - Currently Use
If you have an account the application for BlackBerry is pretty good. You cant view peoples profile and there are quite a bit of other limitations but hopefully it will be improved soon, if not at least in time for 4.5.
Opera Mini - No Longer Use
I used Opera Mini for a little while but I found it was not as quick to load pages as the BBbrowser is. All I use the browser for is weather, ESPN and sometimes crackberry so I do not really need a full featured web browser. A little tweaking and the BBbrowser works just fine. I decided it wasnt worth the space and removed it from my device.
Google Maps - Currently Use
As soon as I downloaded this I uninstalled BBmaps. It is pretty much the same thing but the Google one has better features (even though I am on VZW so I cant use the GPS anyway, I still like the mapping features of Googles app better). You will be able to take advantage of this completely with the internal GPS of your 8310 for att.
JiveTalk - No Longer Use
This is the best messaging client that I have found so far to use with AIM. Sure it costs money but if you give the free trail a test run you will understand why. I no longer use this only because I dont like to use AIM on my phone all the time, so it was just taking up space unnecessarily. If you are looking to do some chatting I suggest you look at this program.
Thats really it. I havent found any other programs that have interested me at all in the 10ish months that I have been a BlackBerry owner (8830 WE and now Curve 8330). I have not tried a weather program, which will probably be my next venture unless SlingPlayer comes to BlackBerry anytime soon, which I am dying for. I have been waiting for that one for quite some time now.
Also, there are some cool MLB apps on the BlackBerry downloads page on their main website. I think you have to pay for one of them but I have been thinking of going for the free trial just to check it out. It would be pretty cool to be able to get details on my Sox on the road.06-10-08 12:38 AMLike 0 - i have the att maping program is it worth the 10 a month or should i take off the subscription and just use the google maps is it the same? and note: while updating the os my computer glitched and nuked my BB lol but whatever i followed steps and it seems like it'll all be fine.06-10-08 12:49 AMLike 0
