I noticed that if I have my Jive Talk opened then I would hear a notification sound, otherwise if its closed but yet still running, I don't hear it the sound but can only see the LED lights flashing. Is there a way to make it so that even if my Jive Talk is closed but program is still running, I'd still be able to hear the notification alert?

Make sure your profile settings, are set correctly, here. Also, within JiveTalk, check the settings there, too...
