I set up one of my computers at home as a VNC Server.
Port forward the router ECT..
I can almost access my windows XP desktop with my BB Curve..
But I think I need to install Java.. I have the javascript function on
within the blackberry browser. It says from within the browser:
[java-applet; version=1.4]
VNC stands for Virtual Network Computing. It is remote control software which allows you to view and fully interact with one computer desktop (the "VNC server") using a simple program (the "VNC viewer") on another computer desktop anywhere on the Internet.
...
For ultimate simplicity, there is even a Java viewer, so that any desktop can be controlled remotely from within a browser without having to install software.
It appears you will need a VNC Viewer specific to the BlackBerry.
Java VNC Viewer
...
Running from a web browser
The VNC servers also contain a small web server. If you connect to this with a web browser, you can download the Java version of the viewer, and use this to view the server. You can then see your desktop from any Java-capable browser, unless you are using a proxy to connect to the web. The server listens for HTTP connections on port 5800+display number. So to view display 2 on machine ’snoopy’, you would point your web browser at:
http://snoopy:5802/
The applet will prompt you for your password, and should then display the desktop.

That really looks interesting, but no Vista support? I see Windows NT is supported so that rules out a ring zero conflict.
New release v4.3
Personal Edition
Windows Vista systems are fully supported.
64-bit (x64) Windows systems are fully supported.
Significant performance improvements for Windows 2000 & above.
BlackBerry is built on Sun Java. All the native and third party applications are created with Java.
I'm using Ultra VNC server.. which is also free..
I am just using blackberry internet browser to connect..
If the browser supports java.. I should be able to connect to the server
using the blackberry browser as the "vnc client" itself.. I'm able to
do this via Firefox or Internet Explorer on a workstation.. but have not been
successful yet on the blackberry..
Just halts on this: [java-applet; version=1.4]
The browsers used must have a Java Virtual Machine (JVM) that supports signed applets. Currently the Opera and Firefox browsers are known to be capable, as is Internet Explorer with Sun’s JVM installed. ...
It was looking promising....
Installed and running as a service. No luck with the Browser, yet.
End of the line. This is much more informative, not with the Default Browser.
