I live in the states, have an 8310 and an ATT data plan. I just returned from Germany/Czech Republic and my phone worked flawlessly. Yahoo IM, texting, and Opera (mainly). Not a single problem. I just sent an 8310 to a friend in Scandinavia and he can NOT get any IM client to work. I installed/tested Yahoo 2.0 on it without any problems before I sent it. However, it doesn't work over there. He's using a local carrier SIM. He tried to reinstall, but says the SMS installs don't work over there? Does anyone have any experience with what might be going on, or an IM client we could reliably use? Browsing works fine on his phone otherwise.
