is there anyway to create shortcut icons for specific tasks? like if you email or text certain people all the time, could you create a shortcut icon so that you just click on that and you will get an email window with the person's email preloaded ready to send?

I don't believe you can have it preloaded with their info, but you can certainly edit your side convenience key to be the compose function.

There are some 3rd party shortcut apps available, but I don't know if they will do something as specific as what you want to do.
