I got one question though. Is there a way to add all the friends I have on my bb messenger at one time? Like send them all a request at the same time?

Do you still have BOTH devices? Use the Switch Device Wiz in Desktop Manager and it will add them all back to the new device.

If not, do a complete backup on your old BB with DM, and restore to your new.

No, you can't send them all a request at the same time. You need to ask them to remove you, and let you invite them back

Did your contacts have to change their PIN info for you since you were on a different device with new PIN?

they also did not have to do anything, i pinned someone using the new 8310 and they got it, i never did anything else. once i restored it all the contacts came, and its been working properly ever since

Purpleberry is correct, like I said, use the Switch Device Wiz... and that is the way to do it. But you need to delete them one at time and readd.

They will need your uptodate PIN. Otherwise THEY will not be able to BBM you .

You will be able to send to them not reverse, until they have your PIN or invite.

Im not doubting you but How can they send you a message without having your new pin and without you sending them a message first?!

That's what I thought. Changing PINs would be like changing phone numbers. If you don't give your contacts the new phone number they couldn't call you. Stands to reason the same would apply to a PIN

lol once i did the restore all my pin contacts were already there. i pinned someone and they answered, i didnt have to do anything extra.

once i did the switch device wizard, it had erased all my contacts. but when i did the restore, all my contacts were there and i pinned them with no problem

If you backup and restore to your new device, you will not have to request anyone, you can just message the contact, it will go right through, and it will automatically add you to their list, but as a new contact. They wouldnt be able to message you first, but you dont need to delete and request, you can just message them. I switched BBs a lot for a while, and thats how i did it. You just message them saying This is my new PIN, Delete the old name you have, All they have to do is remove the old name you used and that is all. Good Luck with your new BB!!!!
