Provided you have a data plan it should be as simple as going
to a message folder, pressing menu and selecting either Compose SMS or MMS.

You can also select any contact from the address book, press menu and again
select Compose SMS or MMS

Your SMS/MMS menu doesn't look anything like this?

You may want to check with your carrier. There are some that
don't offer MMS as a service

That shouldn't mean that the mms option is totally eliminated from the menu. Go to options and the MMS and then make sure multimedia reception is marked "always". That could be the problem I'm not sure. If its not then contact your carrier. It could be a glitch in the system
