    hey, I got a BB 8330 wicked cheap on ebay and I was wondering if there's somewhere on in the BB that tells you if its unlocked or not?

    Also, does anyone have any experience with getting Verizon to dish out the unlock code?

    Wink, I hope you bought a Verizon branded 8330, or you're SOL on getting it to work on Verizon.

    oh yeah, its branded.
    Its already activated and what not and I've been using it for a little while now.
    Its awesome and i dont really have the need to "unlock" it, as the only "outside of the US travel" that I'll be doing anytime soon is our honeymoon.

    I was just curious.

    other than travel, are there any other perks to having it unlocked that I'm misssing out on?

    If you are traveling to a country with only GSM coverage, then your 8330 will definitely not work as it is a cdma only phone.
