I have unlocked my an old Blackberry Curve 8310, it was originally on Rogers

When I put a Fido SIM card in it, it says "Invalid SIM" and it cannot find new networks

What do I need to do to solve this

You need to have the device registered on the Fido network, have an active data plan with Fido and have the Fido service books sent to the device.

Thank you for your help DawgMan. The phone is my mothers, it is a very simple voice only plan, she doesn't have data... How can I get these service books?

This sounds like the SIM card is not being recognized by the phone.

    Please make sure that:
    - the SIM card really does work in another phone.
    - it is correctly seated in the 8310 which is notorious for bad seating SIM cards (I have two of them).

Once the SIM card is recognised, you should be able to make and receive phone calls and to send/receive SMS messages.

You should also check that the phone really is unlocked. To do this, go to Options, Advanced Options, SIM Card and check the message at the top of the screen. It should say Security Disabled once the SIM card is recognised. If it does not, then the phone is not yet unlocked.
