I would like to back up the applications on my Curve prior to deleting some of them. For example, is there a way that I can backup the Memo Pad application prior to removing it from my Blackberry? If at some point in the future I decide that I want that application back on my BB, how do I re-load it back in?

No need to back it up. It is part of the OS. You can delete
it and reinstall it by using DM
