Are those numbers the same for the 8820? I have OS 4.5.0.110 installed. The only MicroSD that supports greater than 2gb is microSDHC, which I thought the 8820 did not have since it came out before that technology was released.
I always though SDHC support was hardware based. What you are saying is the it was a software issue that prevents regular microSD capable phones from supporting SDHC?

That is correct. The size of the card is determined moreso by the
OS than it is by the device.

I always thought it was hardware that prevented compatibility between microSD and SDHC. Looks like I am buying a 12GB microSDHC card

    I think you mean 16gb. I don't recall ever seeing a 12gb card

EDIT: Strike that. Just did a Google search.

Apparently, Sandisk discontinued their 12GB version. Only a 16 now. I'll just get an 8GB off newegg for $22 w/ shipping and wait for the higher capacities to come down in price.

I saw that but the Adata was reported to have faster read/write speeds. Also, newegg's egg saver shipping is 3 to 7 days using usps or dhl. Since I hate dhl, I opted for ups 3 day. It was only $1 more for the adata after shipping.
