    Hello all!

New to the curve, but not new to bberries. I have a 7250 atm. What I liked on that device, and that seems to be gone on the curve, is to select an icon on the home screen with a key press. Scrolling to an icon and then pressing the track wheel is a lot slower than pressing a single key. Is there any way to get that behavior on the curve as well?

    Thanks!

Well, what you can do is look up the keyboard shortcuts on the guide book stickified on one of the posts on the top of the 8300 board.

However, the first place to start is to get in your... well, I don't use the phone a lot so I wouldn't know what that program is but it makes your calls for you - press the green "phone" found on the left of your blackberry curve besides the trackball to enter that program. After doing so...

    1) Open the menu
    2) Click Options
    3) Click "General Options"
    4) For the "Dial from Home Screen", change the option from "Yes" to "No"

After that, you should have keyboard shortcuts enabled. Pressing M, for instance, takes you to your messages. Pressing C will take you to contacts, and so forth.

It appears that certain themes disable the shortcut keys...so now my dimension zen theme is not the perfect theme I thought it was. Anyone know a way to get use of the shortcuts back without going back to lousy AT&T theme?

Seeing as ideaMatrix and todoMatrix manage to set themselves up with shortcut keys, I'm convinced that there is a way to set shortcut keys for other applications as well...

Maybe the program doesn't exist yet but it must be possible.
