    Hi,

    I have just bought an 8310 and have just done a software update (with no SIM card in it). after all apps have been loaded, the desktop manager is saying connecting to device and the device has the spinning star thing showing on a white screen. It has been like this for over 15 mins. Is is doing stuff or has it hung (how long should I wait)?

    It can take up to an hour. Don't disconnect - if it takes hour(s) post back here and someone can direct you on what to do to resolve the issue or how to recover a bricked berry (if that happens for whatever reason)

    Sure enough, 10 mins after my post, it finished.
    Now I just have to wait for the DEskTop app to realize that it's back (still saying connecting to device)
