    My phone (BB Curve 8320) is over a year old. Recently it started shutting down on me. If I am on the phone I hear static just before the phone dies.
    Battery does not show as low and if there is an alternate power source the phone is functioning just fine. Did all the fancy footwork with freeing up the memory and talking to T-Mobile (my service provider) staff with no results.
    Please, if anyone knows solution to this nuisance of a problem, let me know.

    The big clue is the phone is "just fine when connected to an alternate power source."

    Also, the radio transmitter is the most power hungry thing in your phone, that's why it dies while using the phone, or accesing data in the browser.
