- I was told that this phone I purchased, a sprint 8330 phone which was flashed n unlocked to work with boost that I WILL NOT have the BBM feature, is that true? if so then is there a way to make that work with a unlock code or something..if so that would stink because that was one of the main reasons for the phone of course04-01-10 08:36 PMLike 0
- First thing first, if you bought a Sprint branded 8330 there was no reason to have it flashed. Boost Mobile is owned by Sprint. Boost will activate the Sprint branded 8330's, but they will NOT allow you to have the $60 BB Plan. That plan is ONLY, ONLY for the Boost branded 8330. So. Your option with that Sprint branded model is the $50 unlimited plan. Which isn't bad, but you do not have ANY Blackberry Internet Service features, like BBM, Push Emil etc. With the $50 plan you can simply download Bolt (or whatever floats your boat) for your Browser, and use the GMail app if you use Google. Apps like RIM's Facebook will not work. Hope that helps.04-01-10 11:03 PMLike 0
- And no, an unlock code will do nothing for your CDMA phone. Unlock codes are for GSM. Flashing is used on CDMA phones, but that still doesn't mean any said carrier (expect maybe like MetroPCS or Cricket, the small guys) is gonna activate said phone. These companies are out to make money after all. They want you to buy their product.04-01-10 11:07 PMLike 0
