Hey All,

After dying last night my phone has been revived and is deciding that my 8g sandisk media card needs to be formatted. I've never gotten this message before (luckily I've only had the card for a week or so, so there's nothing really on it).

I keep trying to format it and my phone just freezes. What the crap? What should I do?

Try putting it in a card reader and formatting it on a computer.
When it is done, put it back in the phone and format it again.

sounds like exactly what happened to me 2 weeks ago with my 8g card. Unfortunately my card was hosed and I had to buy a new one. If the pc wont format it then your cards toast.

I hope my card isn't toast.. What if I have a mac can I still format it on there? I have the PocketMac software, I don't really know if that helps or not though.

best way to tell is try formatting the card in the BB. Let it do its thing even though it looks frozen (mine took 10 minutes). Eventually it will either a) format it or b) tell you it was unable to format the card.

If it's b then your cards toast.
