Yesterday my wifi logo was working fine and turned black when I used the internet but now it's gray all the time even though I'm on-line. Does that mean I'm not using wifi because I know that I am because AT&T has disabled my pay per use internet. So is it okay if my wifi logo doesn't turn black?

When it is black, it means you are using BIS servıce, if it is gray, you are not.

When it is gray and on the screen (next to operator name) the wifi name is written , it means you area connected wifi. If there is no name written then, you are connected to any wifi.

Whats a BIS service? Doesn't that mean I'm using AT&T's data services? Like right now I am using Jivetalk and the wifi is black but when I go on the browser it's gray.

BlackBerry Internet Service (BIS) is a subscription service that connects you to the BlackBerry mail system.

It is separate from, but uses your data plan.
