    Google Maps works pretty well with the built in GPS on m 8330, but not InstaMapper (GPS tracking software). It will not find my location, what gives?

    Are you sure you aren't confusing cell tower triangulation in Google Maps for GPS?

    Yep, probably am I guess VZ hasn't unlocked their GPS stuff then in the latest phones.

    Any updates to this? I am trying to get instamapper working on a Verizon 8330 with no luck. Is it still BB Maps only GPS-access? What would be fantastic is if Instamapper would allow cell tower approximation in addition to GPS.

    If I understand correctly, VZ has unlocked GPS in BBMaps. Everything else is tower triangulation.

    Yup.. that is right.. if the other programs allow tower triangulation..
