    Hi all.

I already posted my message on the Google forums. Getting support on Google's forums is spotty at best; so, I figured I'd copy the post here. Just wondering if anyone else is having the same problem & maybe found a work-around?

    Google,

I think something is wrong with your installation process for the
    Gmail 2.0.5 app for BlackBerry.

I exited and signed out of Gmail App 1.5. Then, I downloaded the
update using the Google Updater application on my BlackBerry. After
the download, I noticed that there is now a 2nd Gmail icon in my
application menu. I clicked the new Gmail icon and I get this:

    Loading...
"Please be patient while Gmail loads for the first time..."

I went to sleep last night with this loading screen going. Woke up
the next morning to find the phone still stuck there.

    ---------------------------

Next, I went into the Application list (in the BlackBerry, not in
Google Updater) to uninstall Gmail 1.5 -- thinking that the
installation would work if I uninstalled the previous version. The
Gmail 2.0.5 installation icon uninstalled, but Gmail 1.5 is still on
my BlackBerry and works. I went back into the Application list
(again...in the BlackBerry, not in Google Updater) and found that
there is no other listing for "Gmail" -- even though Gmail 1.5 is
still on my phone and working.

What the heck am I supposed to do now? lol.

I had the same load screen problem. Exited out and started the app again and it worked fine. I installed over the previous version as well, didn't seem to cause and problems. Be sure to pull your battery after the install.

Thanks, azeis. I exited out of the Loading screen & restarted the installation the 5th time, and it finally worked. My Berry is resetting itself now as part of the install. (sigh of relief) hehe
