    How do you get the *jar files to run once you have downloaded them? I tried using desktop manager to no avail.

    Not sure, I only download OTA but make sure the .jad and .jar files are in the same folder.

    You can still use the Blackberry Browser without BIS, you only need a generic data plan and you can hack it.

    apps: just search it on google, blackberry app world
    ringtones, just click any advertisement you see while on cell-related sites.
    and yes,a 2gb memory card will definitely let you add more music and larger video files to your blackberry.
    after downloading .jar apps, press right click, and then send to your device
