    gritmaster is correct. I think that OS 4.2.X only recognizes up to 4 gigs on any memory card. You'll have to upgrade to 4.5.x to recognize up to 16gigs.

    so i just formatted an 8 gb memory card i bought, and now its only 4 gb? anyone know whats up? i didnt think formatting would cut the memory in half!

    Hi cusker , that I believe is your problem. Your OS is 4.2.2 and won't see the full 8gb card. TThat

    yea, if you upgrade to 4.5 you will see about 7.7gb after formatting. 4.2 will only support up to 4 gigs
