BKRoberts
Newbie BB user with memory issues:
My 8310 only shows 1,070,991 Bytes free, even after battery pull and ALT+LGLG to clear the log.
File total says 54,919,168 Bytes, which is about right.
I have no 3rd party apps or games, less than 10 pics, and no tunes loaded. No SD card (yet) either.
Carrier is ATT, and connected to Outlook at work with Enterprise.
Any thoughts as to why the free is this low? The most I have ever seen free is 1.6-1.7.
Help????

less than 10 pics...
At 0.5 Mb each, there goes 5 Mb of device memory.
You device memory is critically low, out of the box, you should be seeing nearly 20 Mb.
A media card would be a big help. Device memory is far to precious for pics and tunes.
The solution is purging all the sample and unused features to free up memory space using Garz's link.

My 8310 had only 11 MB out of the box. Yup very very low. After John Clarks thread, I run around 28 MB free.
