I searched here and was never able to find a solution to this one. I asked and did not get a solution, so I am hopeful that perhaps this is of assistance. If it is no I apologize in advance.
The University here does not support BB. In working with the email system I was not able to access the Exchange Server through the web using the BB standard browser either. It would view the messages, but I could not open or respond to any of them. Others at the time indicated similar problems, but no solution.
This worked for me ... Opra Mini as an additional/alternate browser. It appears to work fine. It will to open, and allows one to respond to email from the exchange server. It appears to allow you to generate new email as well. While it has an atypical interface in places it does appear to be an option for those who wish to deal with exchange mail on a BB.

Reason: Title Fix ...
Had the same issue with my work email (a webmail account) and Opera Mini solved it for me, as well. It's a great browser - fast and free to boot. It also lets me do banking on my Curve (same issue as the exchange mail - goes to site but won't do anything once you get there). Think it's the best free app I've ever downloaded!
I would NOT be so convinced. I work for a VERY large communications company that doesn't either. They do however allow normal https webmail access to exchange. You CAN set this up to use webmail to check your account.
The biggest trick is finding the right settings (usually "mailbox name" is where people go wrong)
If you can access exchange via webmail on your blackberry.. I promise you can set up BIS to get your email
dottat thanks so much for that... I couldn't get my wifes work email to work properly until I read that. Like you said took some fiddling with the mailbox and username but I did it.
DOTTAT- I've been screwing around with this same issue for a week with my IS dept and Sprint-Blackberry service. No one can help. They deleted my work webmail account and now I cannot add it again. The BB server will notvalidate email address. When you mentioned mailbox name, I can't help but think that's my problem. Did you have problems with mailbox name too? Thanks!
