    I was trying to help a friend upgrade his os on his curve after I downloaded the software I tried installing it and I keep getting this error Error 1335. The cabinet file 'data.cab' required for this installation is corrupt and cannot be used. This could indicate a network error, an error reading from CD-ROM, or a problem with this package. "

    I tried this on 4 different computers and redownloaded the software. I've never ran into this problem before. Any advice is greatly appreciated.

    Thank you

    I had an error like this once. Downloading the file again solved the problem.

    Make sure you completely uninstall the OS software from your computer using Control Panel's Add/Remove Programs before reinstalling the redownloaded upgrade file.

    Also a good idea to remove any of your OS files on your computer for your device as well.

    Uninstall the program, restart your machine, and reinstall.

    Most of the time, this happens.

    Also, reference the re-installation here: http://forums.crackberry.com/f52/new...nguage-152163/

    Remember to uninstall the 8330 software from your computer before installing the OS files for the 8320.

    @fabuloso & xliderider

    I normally make a point of never posting at the end of a thread
    where the answer has been provided, but I just wanted to say
    you both did really well here. Problem solved in less than 10 posts.
    and less than one hour. Nice!!
