    I just got a new curve under a warranty switchout with verizon. I ran the device switch function of BB Device Manager and it did a great job of transfering settings and third party programs.
    My email account settings did not transfer, however, and I have to run email setup wizzard.

    Here's the problem: the wiz does not let me enter my existing blackberry email address. It wants me to create a new one or does not know what to do for service setting when I treat it as an existing email.

    Anyone have any solutions besides creating a new account?

    You need to call Verizon and have them release your email account from the old device.

    Or login to the Verizon BIS site and you can release/swap your PIN from there. Be sure to resend the service books as well.

    I switched my Pearl out for a Curve yesterday and I just logged into the BIS, switched the PIN and ESN (hex), and resent the service books. Link is here

    Went to the Verizon BIS site and changed the PIN & ESN (hex), resent service books and all my accounts and messages started downloading instantly! Thanks everyone.

    What are service books and how do you send them?

    Is there a step by step how to thread on this somewhere???
