I have a bunch of mpeg, m4v, mp4 videos on my sd card but the curve wont play em, only the 3gp files...

what gives?

and if i have to convert em, what program can i use on a mac?

I dont want to spend 40 dollars to convert videos for a blackberry i just spent hundreds on. I don't see how thats a bad attitude to have.

Does anyone know of a FREE application for MAC that lets you convert videos to 3gp?

I don't use a mac, but bb should be able to play .mp4, .avi. And .3pg. It doesn't support .mpg, .mpeg. As far as a converter program, I don't. Never really had to convert my vids. Got em str8 from limwire.

Aye now,
I've been trying different programs for over two months now ( for the same reason ) & haven't come across a completely universal converter yet . However , I did notice several pay programs that said fit the bill . Sorry , don't remember the names since I'm only looking for freeware . My point is , if you look long enough you should find it .
BTW - The more threads you post your problem in the better your odds of a response. After all , You don't submit only one resume & wait for them to call you back for the job do you ? Just make sure every post is in it's correct sub category ( 8330 vid problem could be posted in both vid & 8330 forums ) .

I have saved .3gp files and after they have downloaded somehow automatically end up as mp4's. Maybe an OS5 feature? I have been wondering.

Other formats are compatible but you need they need to be encoded proper CODEC as well.
