I noticed this when I got my curve, but didn't think alot of it. I can be in an area of 5 bars of 1XEV and there will be 5 bar, then no bars, then 5 bars. Is this the radio?
Mine has that problem only when i go into the Harris Teeter across the street from my apartment, its a deadzone for me in there and after i get out the bars bounce and it says im still roaming. I usually ignore it because everything works fine after a few minutes and it calms down and goes back to normal. I've wondered as well if its my radio.
I've noticed this with my Curve. I have the constantly fluctuating bars of service inside my house (I've never had that problem with any other phone) and I can't hold a call longer than about 45 seconds without dropping it, unless I step out into the front yard. It only affects voice, though, not data.

Have the same problem- running a hybrid OS and that didn't help- seems like a location problem, where it happens mostly at home. Never dropped calls, but bars do fluctuate alot

Ok that is fine, BUT this morning I turned my berry on, got in the truck and went to work. No email this morning, that is fine, I got to work, and looked at my berry, MY RADIO WAS OFF. Just turned it on and it was fine, but does this just happen?

If your Blackberry cannot find a signal it will turn the radio off automatically.
