Ok, I use .gif animations from the weather service to determine if rain is in my immediate future. This link is super handy.

    http://images.intellicast.com/WxImag..._None_anim.gif

That being said, the native browser does not render the image correctly: only a small piece of the image is shown. I tried saving the image and viewing it through the media viewer: this app displays the animated .gif correctly.

Is there a browser setting that can be changed to correct this? Today, I switched from a boostberry 8350i to a boost 8330. The 8350i browser did not have a problem rendering the animated gif.

Any suggestions \ lessons learned are highly appreciated. Given that this is a brand new blackberry, this is either a setting that needs to be factory set or maybe a software change request at RIM is needed.

I googled 'animated gif blackberry browser' and found a table on page 15 that shows image formats supported by the BB browser.
This included animated gif on 3.8 or later.
