    Why won't my Device Manager recognize my device? I have tried everything I can find.....

    i had the same problem

    the solution that helped was
    1- pull out battery
    2- have DM running > app loader > next > wait at the port (com3 com5)
    3- place battery back and plug to USB before BB loads
    4- usb-pin should show up as connection port
    5- click next

    Thanks. I tried it but----it didn't work...any other ideas?

    You said your "device manager" won't recognize your BB. I assume you meant desktop manager.

    Unplug your device from the computer.

    Go to your computer's device manager. If there is a yellow exclamation mark next to your Blackberry, right click on it.

    Then plug in your BB and it should try to find it.

    If this doesn't work, you might try reinstalling your desktop manager. (I didnt like 4.5 - it was too slow to sync my calendar/contact items).
