    Hi -

I know having a bb w/o bis/bes is like going snowboarding with cardboard, but hey, it's not for me

Anyhow, question is - has anyone gotten their 8330 working with only a data plan (wap transport)? I was tooling around with a friend's bb and i couldn't figure out how to get gMaps/gMail app to work via wap only.. any ideas?

I tried searching, but 2 pages of results yielded nada... might be using the wrong key words

I know some people that have had success using the wifi to access apps without a dedicated Blackberry data plan but I do not believe the Verizon curve 8330 is wifi enabled, is it?

It was always my understanding that the CDMA carriers supports less wifi enabled devices than the GSM carriers but could never figure out why?

Sorry I am not much help to you as I am not that familiar with the VZW line of Blackberrys.

    Good luck

Yes it is possible. Google "blackberrywithoubis" without quotes and spelled exactly like that. The firt link should take you to some vietnamese guy's instructions in english. It is safe I've done it and it works. Sometimes you have to go through it multiple times but it does work!!!

If that link doesn't work go to anworm.com

That's the link. If it doesn't work, I'm sorry I'm on my berry. Home ‎(BlackBerry Without BIS‎) is the corrected one above
