Curve 8310 trackball works to sroll but when I click nothing happens. Any suggestions before I surrender it for repairs> I've taken it apart and cleaned it. Although it was dirty, it still doesn't click after cleaning.

It sounds like you need a hardware repair. Here's the final test before you send it away.

Remove the trackball and set it aside. Switch on the phone and using a blunt tool (a toothpick with a broken end is just perfect) and poke it down the hole where the trackball used to be. You will see a brown button down there. This is the trackball click sensor. Press gently with the broken toothpick and your will feel a little click as the detent operates. This is the trackball action. If nothing happens on the screen when you feel the tiny click then, thee is a problem with the sensor.

You cannot repair this yourself as it requires specialist tools and components.

    How do I know this?

My phone did exctly the same thing. I ended up sending it to BlackBerry Repair Shop - A full line of RIM BlackBerry repair services and BlackBerry parts for all BlackBerry handheld devices who turned it around in 24 hours. I was satisfied with their service.

The part I'm talking about is a surface mount component on the main board. If the test I putlined fais to produce a valid trackball click then the phone needs a repair in a fully equipped repair shop.

He could have lost that little copper dome looking thing below the trackball. It won't work for sure if it is missing...http://forums.crackberry.com/f5/trac...57/#post762885
