    Thanks...

I know that it won't be exactly the same but now I'm thinking of stripping my pearl 8130down for a paint job. From what I can tell it should be almost the same. Not exactly, but pretty close!

I'm thinking of scuffing the paint (and the chrome) and making a BLACK PEARL. Some 3M pads, 1000-3000 grit sandpaper, 2 spray bombs (gloss black and clear coat), masking tape, and some car wax should be pretty killer. Maybe even drop a G1 (black) trackball in there too....

Maybe I'll post pics if/when I do it!

I did the same thing for speaker replacement, too.

Sorry just to confirm I'm looking to replace the internal earpiece listed here

    BLACKBERRY CURVE 8330 8350 8350i 8100 8130 EAR SPEAKER - eBay (item 220563831484 end time Mar-29-10 23:33:55 PDT)

I circled it in red in your picture there, is that what I'm looking for? Thanks.

And does it attach using an adhesive or just sits in there?

great stuff you posted here i am still afraid of changing something other than my battery or trackball. changed my trackball on my 8800, 8300 and my brothers pearl. my 8300 now needs a new housing and i think i may change the u plate and the battery door but no more lol.

    great post none the less

    **** NO!
    Leave that ALONE!
    #1) That's not a speaker
    #2) That's your mute button
#3) It's hot tabbed in, and if you pop it off it will break and you're screwed

THIS is the internal ear speaker.
It's located on the piece that goes BOING!

It pops off just like the other speaker.

Great tutorial! I'm usually pretty ham-handed on repair or tech stuff but I was able to step thru the disassembly and put my curve back together without any problems.
