For anyone who has the Curve 8330,
Could you tell me the actual internal memory?
There is some confusion as some stated 64MB ( like the "original" curve), some said 96MB ( even stated on RIM website at one time), some said 80 MB.

    Thanks

I think the 8330 does contain 96 Mb.

Check options / status. The rest of the Curve family shows 55 Mb under File total. The '30 shows over 80 Mb.

I am trying to convince my friend to switch over to BB, and I don't want to give him any wrong info.

    Thanks guys

In summary, the 8330 has 96MB installed but the 8300, 8310, and 8320 models have 64MB installed. Speculation is that the CDMA radio/software stack in the 8330 needed more memory, but I expect it's equally likely memory is cheaper than 1 year ago when the other models came out and RIM recognized we needed more memory for apps (and memory leaks )

    ok,
    more questions,
Does the Sprint version has the new OS4.3? or still the "old" os4.2?
and the GPS is not crippled like the big "V" correct?
and it could do Video Recording and Streaming video ( youtube, etc?)

    Thanks

nevermind question #1, just look at the sticky :>
but could anyone confirm #2 and 3?

    Thanks

I won't be able to confirm until I have one in my hands in a couple of days, but *I believe* GPS won't be crippled and it will do Video recording and streaming. "*I believe*" is based on everything I've read here over the last few months.

I just my 8330 for Sprint. The total memory is listed as 83623936 Bytes which is 79.75MB. Just go to Options>Status> and look at the "File Total"...

The total memory is 96MB. You won't see it all because Firmware space takes some up. There's no such thing as 80MB of memory. It's in multiples of 2.

    2,4,8,16,32,64,96,128,256,512,1024, etc.

GPS isn't crippled on the Sprint version. It works with both Sprint Nav (Telenav re-brand) and BBMaps. It can do video recording and I'd expect it to do streaming video although I haven't done it yet myself. I think you'd need a 3rd-party media player to do it.
