I bought a used Curve 8310 (ATT) and it turns out not to have a sim slot. The phone has the ATT logo on the front. Could this have been physically modified for Cricket or a similar carrier that doesn't require a sim? Or could the sim holder have been broken off? Any ideas would help greatly. Thanks

Go on the options, advanced, about and make sure it is 8310. If it is 8330 then it is altered.

Most likely the SIM card clip is missing. The clip is located under the battery and fairly easy to replace. I'm sure you could find one on ebay fairly cheap.

The 8310 cannot be modified to use without a SIM card, but the seller might have sold you an 8330 with the housing from an 8310.

Check this diagram to see if there is a SIM card slot.

Thanks for the tips. It is an 8310 (checked it under "About"). Will try and order a sim holder from ebay.

I bought a SIM holder for my 8310 off ebay but now I don't know how to install it. It is the tray and cover together but inside my phone it looks like there was never a sim holder. I checked the "About" and it said it was an 8310. The electrical contacts are correct but the same contacts are on the sim holder I ordered. It almost looks as if you would have to unsolder the existing bare contacts and resolder the new SIM holder back in place. Anybody have any ideas? Thanks

I also need to replace the Sim Card Holder / Sim Card Slot on an 83** phone. I have the phone disassembled, but do not see how to remove the old slot. I don't want to break the motherboard in an effort to remove this component. Has anyone every replaced their Sim Card Holder / Sim Card Slot on their Blackberry 8300 8310 or 8320?

    Thanks in advance,
    Kristi
