I have dropped the phone many times and it's probably the cause of my problem but everytime I try to open the camera it says "Could not start the camera. Close other apps and try opening the camera again". Obviously dropping the phone can damage stuff like that but I am wondering if anything else can cause this and if anyone else has had this problem before?
While were on the topic of the camera I was wondering can the curve record video?
1. Try pulling the battery and rebooting the device.
2. Try reloading the OS on the device (look in the Sticky Threads at the top of the 8300 section of this forum
then, if all else fails, you might desire to return it, but i would not suggest that as a first piece of advice without troubleshooting it first.
When I bought the phone it was from a rogers dealer but it was a phone that was "used" but not actually used. The guy brought it back within a couple days because he didn't like it. Would rogers still cover it?
Its going to sound rather ******** asking them to fix my phone because my camera doesn't work. And they don't have this phone on file with my account because I didn't buy it with a plan I bought the phone only. Are you sure they'll do anything about it.
Sometimes the person you speak to doesn't necessarily ask if you got the phone from them. They'll prob transfer you to blackberry support to troubleshoot and if/when your phone keeps messing up they'll send you another as a warranty exchange.
Well I might get lucky then. I called Rogers today and worked everything out for my replacement on warranty and apparently there are only 2 locations in Canada that you can bring your phone into and get the replacement over the counter. I dont know for sure that is what I was told by Rogers customer service. So when I go tomorrow Im getting me a new BB hopefully they ran out of 8300's and will give me the 8310 haha.
If I don't get a new one I probably won't even exchange it anyways, the only thing wrong with the phone is the camera. Which I don't ever use. I wonder if they would allow you to pay extra money and get upgraded to the 8310 or 8320.
Yeah they really didn't run out of 8300's , I just got another one I was hoping for a model with Wi-Fi but no such luck. Oh well brand new BB looks very nice
