If a Verizon Curve 8330 is 6 mos. old and has issues with the earpiece speaker, will it be replaced with a new phone or a FRU (Factory Reconditioned Unit)?

More than likely a refurb, but there should be no fear from a refurb.

They are fully tested and the housing is completely replaced. One
of my BB's is a refurb and it is just as good as the new unit.

I agree with AG. Nothing to worry about. I have a refurbed 8310 and I never had a issue with the device.

I had an issue once witha refurb, the speakerphone speaker was messed up. But one out of six that I got isn't to bad(I had a phone with a known defect so whenever it got to scratched up I'd call and complain about it and get a referb). Like the others said, referbs arnt bad at all, if it is messed up simply let Verizon know and get another!

Aside from the fact that you kicked it to the curb for the Bold.
    It will haunt you

I still use it once in awhile. I just ordered it a new trackball from cnn.cn last night. I still keep the Curve in top notch condition. I refuse to sell it.
