After hearing recent rumors about T-mo moving closer to using a 3g network (most recent rumor i saw on CNET today said one rumor mentioned as early as Dec 6th it would be up and running in some areas) it got me wondering if there was anyway or if it was possible for newer BB's to receive and upgrade that would allow them to utilize the potential 3g network.

I just got the curve about a month ago now and if I had heard any official news from T-mo that it would be coming this soon I obviously would have held off for a 3g capable T-mo BB.

I'll be fairly upset if some sort of firmware update is not possible and I'm stuck with EDGE while others who waited a month or two are rewarded with
    3G.

I don't think that's going to be in a software upgrade. Likely new hardware will be needed.

Any idea if this is even a possibility? I'm not to sharp with frequencies and receivers but I would hope if any current phones receptors could be altered by software then they would support this.

Then again they'd get the money from the hardware sales.
    Oh well
