There should already be an icon for BBM. Are you sure you installed
it? options > advanced options > applications and check to see if
it is in the list. If it is check your applications folder.

To add to these great replies, if its not installed, you can download it HERE (OTA Link). If it is installed and you can't find it, it is probably hidden, hence the suggestion by wnm... and if you can find it, just unhide it (menu-> uncheck hide) and you'll be all set.
You should have a BB messenger icon on the applications list. Roll the selecting icon to where you would select BBM and then press the application button. Next select move. Now roll your ball up to the top of your screen and to the left. Press the roller ball and your BBM icon should be moved there. Hit the end button and now your BBM icon should be on your home screen. Hope this helps...
