We're going on vacation, out of country in a few weeks. I really can't afford to be paying for extra fees so... When I go to "Manage Connections" and shut the mobile network off, is it possible the phone is still doing anything that I could get charged extra for? I'm taking the phone with me because it makes a great mp3 player/media player Not leaving it behind...

Once you turn off mobile network and data services it turns off the radio and you should see a little x by where your service bars normally are.
