Until today, I have been able to play both audio (wma) files and video on my BB8330. Today i tried and get the message "an error has occurred attempting to play media".

I dont recall any recent updates to my phone.
For what it is worth i have

V4.5.0.175 (Platform 3.4.0.55)
Cryptographic Kernel v3.8.5.32a

Any ideas on why this worked a few days ago and now it cant play the files??????????

are you storing your files to a media card?
are they protected media files ( where did you purchase the files)?
are they able to play on the computer?

They are all stored on a media card. All the songs are from CDs I've purchased and then ripped to wma.

I can play all of them on a computer and could play them on my BB until today???

When all else fails "Battery Pull" I had a weird issue where my alarms and ringtones just quit working, Battery pull worked for me.

Believe it or not, after pulling the battery i can now play the songs and vids.
