My BB isn't allowing me to modify some of the events on my calender. Or even delete some. When I try to open the events this pops up: Appointment deleted externally. Changes will be lost and the view closed. I click ok and nothing happens.

Help?

Is that the only way to resolve this issue? This will sound really dumb, but how do I reset my BB?

I think there is a little reset button on the bottom part of your BB. Did you try doing a battery pull out?
