So I had my Sprint 8330 stolen from me at work and after no luck calling or texting it and it not being used I figured it was gone. I just bought a used one off of a popular seller on ebay, which showed up looking like a perfect replacement. I took it back to my buddy who I originally bought the curve from and he canceled the old one and programed the new one. Here is where the problem lies. The phone as far as talk and text goes works just fine but....there is no browser or any way for me to use the internet service including E-mail, IM, etc. the only internet related service on the phone is a facebook application that when I try to use opens a dialogue box that says "you are currently on a service plan that does not...." etc
so step one is call sprint and figure out why no internet service.
step two, how do I load the browser onto my phone through pocketmac. I'm having nothing but troubles and it is very frustrating.
    no porn for me ;(

you're going to need to update the blackberry information on the blackberry sprint website sprint.blackberry.net

once you update the information and resend the service books all those icons will reappear.

    good luck.

Have you tried resending your service books or re-registering your host routing tables? Also, don't forget to login to your carrier's BIS site and do the device switch if you haven't already. Btw, you can't re-add Browser via PocketMac. You need Desktop Manager. Also, try dialing *228. That's worked for some.

    P.S. welcome to CB!

Well, yesterday evening I called the sprint customer service. I talked to a gentleman named leroy who sounded like he was from the southern United States. No non-sense type of guy who was nice, helpful and just what I was looking for. Big props to him and sprint.
He re-sent the service books (?) and even sent me the newest ones after I asked him what I was going to need to do to get MMS picture messaging that I didn't have on my old 8330. I now have v4.5.0.131.
Only issue is the old owners E-mail account is still attached and am having trouble getting mine set up to this phone.
Also I need a new memory card and need to track down how much memory this software version can handle.
    So far so good.

The version might not let you see all the memory of the larger card.
BlackBerry Device Software version Media card size limit
BlackBerry Device Software 4.2.0 Up to 2 GB
BlackBerry Device Software 4.2.1 Up to 4 GB
BlackBerry Device Software 4.2.2 Up to 4 GB
BlackBerry Device Software 4.3.0 Up to 8 GB
BlackBerry Device Software 4.5.0 Up to 8 GB
BlackBerry Device Software and later Up to 16 GB
BlackBerry Device Software 4.6.0 and later Up to 32 GB

I think you will need to call your carrier to delete his BIS account on email.... did you do a wipe on the phone to clear all data ?
