Brilliant information, as always.

What I want to know is, if a U.S user downloads and installs a European (U.K) O.S. would it cause issues? I suppose the main thing is making sure the date/time and language is set correctly for U.S.

But, anything else?

It won't cause you any issues. Just remember to delete the vendor.xml file and it will load just fine. I've used the O2 version of the 8800 OS and had no problems.

Its about time they put it on their site, as with the 8800.

Still, went with Rogers for the 8800 and works fine..

What are the benifits of loading this new OS? I am patiently awaiting delivery of my ATT curve. Does it come loaded with this OS?

Can't really say what the benefits are since I haven't heard what OS is coming standard on the AT&T devices. It may be newer, it may be older.

AT&T Curve comes with OS v.4.2.2.89.

You could always do a search on your PC to find the file, or...

C:/Program Files/Common Files/Research in Motion/Shared/Loader Files/8800-v4.2.1.74_P2.3.0.54

That last folder is just an example, you'll have one that starts with 8300

OK, y'all are making me feel like a red headed step child with all this talk about the curve.......my poor little Pearl is barely a month old and I want to trade him in....but finances being what they are....OTOH, christmas IS coming-LOL

I tryed to downgrade my OS because my blackberry browser was not showing up. After it was just about done with the process it gave me an error and it said it couldnt load the OS. Now my phone says error code 507 and it doesnt not regonize on the manager. Someone please help me I just got my phone unlocked today im really frustrated.
