I just installed 5.0.0.230 on my friends 8330 and it gets to about quarter bar on first start up then stops.

Is it an 8330e or an 8330m? The update only seems to be working, as I understand it, for the 8330e due to a radio chip difference.

you gotta be patient, it took mine almost 20 mins on first bootup... you should have read it in the thread

how long did you wait for? some people had to wait about 30 mins for it to move... mine was for about 25

I left mine connected to my PC and it took about 20 minutes.

same thing happened to me. i was worried because i just crashed my bb and when i went to restore it, it gave me the 5.0 software to install but i wasn't sure if i should use it or the 4.5... it wouldn't let me recognize the 4.5 so i just went with the 5.0. so now i'm re-doing the process in hopes that it will load this time.
