- Ok so I have a problem with my 8310.
It reboots whenever it likes.
I tried Downgrading, Upgrading, all of it.
I tried jl_cmder, nothing, it keeps rebooting.
Sometimes it does a fast reboot, sometimes it does a full reboot.
I don't have a memory card in, or a sim, even with the sim it performs the same.
I have over 27.8mb of free memory.
What can I do, i don't have warranty.
This is a Log that I pulled after a fast reboot.

I catched the error that makes my phone "long rebooting":

06-28-10 01:46 PMLike 0 - How old is your battery? Does the BB reboot when it is plugged into a charger? You could have a bad battery with one or more bad cells in it, the reboots would happen whenever there is a current demand on the battery (data use, radio transmission, etc.)
The other thing I can think of is a bad app or setting causing the reboots. That might make a little more sense with the memory error you found.06-28-10 03:56 PMLike 0 - The battery isn't very old, just bought the phone a few months ago from Movistar Spain. I'll get to a 8320 battery the day after tomorrow and I'll try to see if it does the same. I really didn't saw it going down on charger, the battery theory sounds good.
It is impossible that an app is causing the reboots, because I wiped clean the phone, I used 3 different firmwares, and I don't restore any backup, just the clean instalation.
The only variable is the IllegalThreadStateException error that is causing the reboot.06-28-10 05:25 PMLike 0 - 06-30-10 04:39 PMLike 0
- This is how I got it, it looks like is melted a little bit or something like that. Just looking at it, I see the plastic a little distorted, but in the photo it looks more damaged.
Tomorrow I will try a 8320 battery to see if the problem persists.
And I rulled out the SIM problem as well, it reboots even without a SIM.
I noticed that it reboots sometimes when i just plug in the usb cable, so when the battery is used. Hopefully it's just a bad battery.Last edited by zeoos; 06-30-10 at 05:04 PM.

- Sorry, if it's not the battery and you have already tried a full wipe with jl cmndr and reloaded the os, there isn't much else that can be wrong with your BB. At this point it sounds like the Java core os is corrupted, something a regular os reload doesn't touch.
You probably need to have it flashed or something, I dunno.07-04-10 04:41 PMLike 0 - Zeoos
I've exactly the same problem, same berry. Sorry I can;t help at all for now but will keep researching.
the only thing I can add is mine get some water and looks your water sticker indicator is also damaged..so can be the reason...no idea about the solution
If you find the solution, please let me know.
J07-10-10 06:41 PMLike 0 - I ditched it for a HTC Cruise Polaris. I will change it on a new blackberry, hopefully 83xx .
The internal water sticker was not touched, and the inside of the phone looked very clean.
Now that I think of it, I had to change the usb port and I remember beeing slightly white inside, and the charger wouldn't work. It could have been a water problem.
Hopefully, you will get it fixed. I got rid of it because I didn't had money to invest in it.07-11-10 02:38 PMLike 0
